Your players find themselves in a darkened chamber. It is a large stone cyst lit by torches held by sconces on the walls. There is one wooden door in the chamber. There is a raised platform in the center of the room with an etching inscribed onto it. Resting on top of the etching is a note.

Hello,
You have been chosen to complete this labyrinth. You must work together to get out. You may die. Good luck, you will need it.

There are niches in the walls filled with many things, rolls of paper, charcoal sticks, flint and steel, ect.

Daniel was impressed by how fast this guy could remember names, perhaps he was a savant or really an angel.

"You know, the legends of labyrinths always had monster," said Daniel, "We might want to stick together here."

Vala nodded her agreement. They had been through several things like this before and knew it was best to stay together.

"Yeah? Well this reminds me of those crazy horror flicks where people get chainsawed to death after having to cut off their own leg," Charlie grumbled.

Bill could feel that tell tale pressure building in his temple that signaled the onset of a headache and he tried to take control of the situation.

"Look, they're aren't any monsters, an' no one is gettin' chainsawed t'death. We all just gotta stay calm an' figure this out, alright?" He hoped, at least. "Now let's just take a look around an' see what all's here. Maybe there's a way out we ain't seein'."

"There is that door," said Cas pointing at the large, heavy, wooden door set into the wall, "I believe that is the only way out of this room."

He looked, unblinking, at the others. He hoped he didn't have to take charge of humans. He didn't know what to make of them.

"Real life rarely follows movie rules," said Daniel,"And we aren't chained to a radiator."

Vala looked from Daniel to Charlie, "You are talking about that movie with the creepy doll, and those torture devices?"

"We could always go through the door and find out what is on the other side," said Daniel to Castiel, who was beginning to creep him out.

"Yeah, that one," Charlie affirmed to Vala, then turned to Daniel.

"And I don't know about you, pal, but my real life doesn't generally include finding myself in some crazy maze with total strangers." In his book that meant anything was possible here.

And... yep. There was the headache.

Sighing, Bill held up his hand and shook his head.

"Look, obviously we've gotta do somethin', we can't just stay here. You two said this here looks like a map. Is there any way we can copy it?" Since they couldn't really take the big ass stone with them.

"That kind of attitude isn't going to help us get out of here," said Daniel as he rifled through a niche with paper, "Ah here we go. Vala can you find some charcoal?"

She nodded and started to search the Niches as well, "You know this might go faster if I had some help."

Castiel nodded, his face devoid of emotion and started to look through the dusty niches.

"Do any of you need weapons?" he asked as he found some dusty swords.

[out_on_the_mat]

"You ain't seen attitude yet," Charlie returned with a snort.

He eyed the swords, and shook his head.

"No, I think I'm good."

Bill eyed the swords with his own look of trepidation and shook his head.

"Nah, I'm alright." Declining the sword, Bill started trying to help Vala search.

"Here, y'go," he offered the piece he'd found.

Castiel had his own weapon, an Angel blade up his sleeve. He always kept it there just in case he needed it.

"Emotions can get in the way of the task at hand," said Castiel.

[diehard_daniel]

"Thank you," said Daniel taking a large piece of blank parchment and the charcoal and proceeded to make a rubbing of the maze. He was an archaeologist with a gun, so he wasn't too worried.

Vala moved to the door while Daniel was working, she was studying the lock.

Charlie tilted his head sharply at that, eyes narrowing slightly.

"Did you just call me emotional?" Like he was some scared broad or a chicken shit?

He squared up against Castiel; pointing at himself, he shook his head.

"I ain't emotional. I'm frustrated, and now thanks to you I'm getting pissed off, but that isn't emotional."

"Hey, cool it!" Bill barked at the two men, then watched Daniel work.

"Y'think you can solve it?" It seemed a better idea to figure the maze out first before they went wandering around in it.

[diehard_daniel]

"It looks to be one of those old fashioned labyrinths with only one way," Daniel explained, "There really isn't any solving it. It's just one way."

"I can open it," she said, "That is if it is locked."

[mm_annalalaith]

"I would not do that, Charlie," warned Cas remaining where he was.

Unblinking and emotionless.

[wheelsy_sheriff]

"One way? Well hell, that makes things easy." Bill really wasn't a puzzle guy, so easy was great.

"Hang on a second with that door, though, I think we outta have at least some kinda plan... "

[out_on_the_mat]

Charlie's own plan was quickly moving towards kicking this Castiel guys ass, but with a cop around that wasn't exactly smart. And while Charlie did a lot of dumb things, he did try to actively avoid that level of stupidity.

Most of the time.

"I'm not doing anything," Not backing down, but also not advancing. "Which includes listening to you idiots if you think I'm going out there." He nodded at the door, folding his arms.

Castiel wasn't baking down from this human, he also didn't understand the reason for this man's hesitation.

"Suit yourself," he said, "But I believe we should stick together. My powers may be weakened, but I can tell that there are some very strong creatures in these halls. I do not think staying here is an option either."

Click, went the door as Bill was saying they should not open it. Vala was very very good.

"What... oh," she said as gears began to grind somewhere withing the walls and the ceiling.

"Vala what did you do?" asked Daniel very annoyed only half way done with the rubbing.

[out_on_the_mat]

"Your powers, right," Charlie scoffed. "Because you're an angel."

Charlie lifted his hands and mimicked fluttery motions like wings by waggling his fingertips.

"You're nuts."

Bill winced when he heard that grinding, and he turned his head looking around the room.

"Shit."

That... didn't sound good at all.

"I unlocked the door," said Vala worried, "All I did was unlock the door. Daniel, you don't suppose that this is a trap, do you?"

"When is it never a trap?" asked Daniel annoyed, "You know, maybe we shouldn't stay in this room. I would prefer to not find out what is happening."

Vala nodded in agreement and opened the door. It swung outwards on noisy hinges.

Castiel really didn't care that Charlie was being difficult. He didn't feel he needed to preform any miracles. Right now, he was more concerned with his whereabouts, and that grinding noise.

"I believe Vala is correct. We should leave," he said moving towards the door. However, if he had to he would drag Charlie out of that room, even if he had to knock him out to do it.
