Labrynth

Your players find themselves in a darkened chamber. It is a large stone cyst lit by torches held by sconces on the walls. There is one wooden door in the chamber. There is a raised platform in the center of the room with an etching inscribed onto it. Resting on top of the etching is a note.

Hello,
You have been chosen to complete this labyrinth. You must work together to get out. You may die. Good luck, you will need it.

There are niches in the walls filled with many things, rolls of paper, charcoal sticks, flint and steel, ect.

"Thank you," said Daniel taking a large piece of blank parchment and the charcoal and proceeded to make a rubbing of the maze. He was an archaeologist with a gun, so he wasn't too worried.

Vala moved to the door while Daniel was working, she was studying the lock.

Charlie tilted his head sharply at that, eyes narrowing slightly.

"Did you just call me emotional?" Like he was some scared broad or a chicken shit?

He squared up against Castiel; pointing at himself, he shook his head.

"I ain't emotional. I'm frustrated, and now thanks to you I'm getting pissed off, but that isn't emotional."

"Hey, cool it!" Bill barked at the two men, then watched Daniel work.

"Y'think you can solve it?" It seemed a better idea to figure the maze out first before they went wandering around in it.

[diehard_daniel]

"It looks to be one of those old fashioned labyrinths with only one way," Daniel explained, "There really isn't any solving it. It's just one way."

"I can open it," she said, "That is if it is locked."

"I would not do that, Charlie," warned Cas remaining where he was.

Unblinking and emotionless.

"One way? Well hell, that makes things easy." Bill really wasn't a puzzle guy, so easy was great.

"Hang on a second with that door, though, I think we outta have at least some kinda plan... "

Charlie's own plan was quickly moving towards kicking this Castiel guys ass, but with a cop around that wasn't exactly smart. And while Charlie did a lot of dumb things, he did try to actively avoid that level of stupidity.

Most of the time.

"I'm not doing anything," Not backing down, but also not advancing. "Which includes listening to you idiots if you think I'm going out there." He nodded at the door, folding his arms.

Castiel wasn't baking down from this human, he also didn't understand the reason for this man's hesitation.

"Suit yourself," he said, "But I believe we should stick together. My powers may be weakened, but I can tell that there are some very strong creatures in these halls. I do not think staying here is an option either."

Click, went the door as Bill was saying they should not open it. Vala was very very good.

"What... oh," she said as gears began to grind somewhere withing the walls and the ceiling.

"Vala what did you do?" asked Daniel very annoyed only half way done with the rubbing.

"Your powers, right," Charlie scoffed. "Because you're an angel."

Charlie lifted his hands and mimicked fluttery motions like wings by waggling his fingertips.

"You're nuts."

Bill winced when he heard that grinding, and he turned his head looking around the room.

"Shit."

That... didn't sound good at all.

"I unlocked the door," said Vala worried, "All I did was unlock the door. Daniel, you don't suppose that this is a trap, do you?"

"When is it never a trap?" asked Daniel annoyed, "You know, maybe we shouldn't stay in this room. I would prefer to not find out what is happening."

Vala nodded in agreement and opened the door. It swung outwards on noisy hinges.

Castiel really didn't care that Charlie was being difficult. He didn't feel he needed to preform any miracles. Right now, he was more concerned with his whereabouts, and that grinding noise.

"I believe Vala is correct. We should leave," he said moving towards the door. However, if he had to he would drag Charlie out of that room, even if he had to knock him out to do it.

"I think maybe you're right," Bill said about leaving, eying the walls and envisioning them closing in, or spilling out green poison gas like in the movies.

Instead the dais in the middle of the room began to sink into the floor, and from it spilled forth a horde of snakes.

"Holy shit, move!"

"Well if it's always a trap why the hell are you messing with shit?" Charlie snapped at Vala and Daniel.

He still thought staying put was the best plan, up until the snakes. Seeing them his opinion flipped right around and he was definitely ready to leave.

"Christ, let's get outta here!"

Vala was all ready moving out the door, "It's what I do, I open locks!"

Daniel would have had a witty retort about checking their pockets, but he was more concerned with getting everyone out of the room.

Cas wasn't worried about the snakes. They may harm humans, but not him. There were only a few things that could harm him here, and one of them was up his sleeve.

"I believe this is why we should work together," he said flatly.

[wheelsy_sheriff]

"Everyone move out, c'mon," Bill said, standing by the door and trying to usher them out.

"Can you lock it again?" Bill asked Vala, hoping to keep the snakes inside.

[out_on_the_mat]

Charlie hopped over one snake who took a strike at him and skidded out the door.

"Jesus, you all are crazy!" Because obviously this was their fault.

[diehard_daniel]

Daniel looked over at Castiel who was still standing in the middle of a writing pile of snakes near the door.

"Are you coming?" he asked the potentially crazy man.

"I don't see why," said Vala. Besides that might take time.

Cas seeing that everyone had evacuated moved himself outside to stand next to Daniel. Only he moved much faster than any human could see. His movement was accompanied by the sound of feathered wings.

"Yes," he said to Daniel.

Then he looked at Charlie, "I don't see why we are crazy. The snakes were a trap, that was set for us."

All of this was done and said without a trace of emotion on his face.

"So the damn things don't get out!" Charlie snapped, guessing easily at why the sheriff would want Vala to shut the door.

He blinked at Cas, but made no comment. If he said something he'd have to admit that he just saw the man do something strange, and Charlie wasn't about to do that.

"Let's just get the hell out of here," he grumbled instead.

Bill had no idea what to make of any of this, including Cas now, and he just shook his head and gestured the group to start moving.

"Let's just... get away from here t'start."

Vala rolled her eyes while shutting the door and using the iron latch on their side.

Daniel elbowed Vala when she was done and she retaliated in kind.

Cas was confused. "Why should it be locked?" He asked,"They dont hqve legs, nor do they have hands. Just closing the door should suffice."
