Labrynth

Your players find themselves in a darkened chamber. It is a large stone cyst lit by torches held by sconces on the walls. There is one wooden door in the chamber. There is a raised platform in the center of the room with an etching inscribed onto it. Resting on top of the etching is a note.

Hello,
You have been chosen to complete this labyrinth. You must work together to get out. You may die. Good luck, you will need it.

There are niches in the walls filled with many things, rolls of paper, charcoal sticks, flint and steel, ect.

This was not how Bill Pardy had planned on his day going. His original intention was to get up, get ready for work, stop at the diner for a cup of coffee and a plate of eggs, and then get through the stack of paperwork that had been living on his desk at the sheriff's office for the past week or so.

No where in his plans did he include room for solving labyrinths.

"What the hell is this?"

"You got me."

Charlie Kenton has got one helluva hangover and no idea what's going on.

"One minute I'm loading my truck to hit the road, the next I'm here." He even has a dufflebag in hand as evidence of this.

Castiel stood looking around him, a man in in his thirties with brown hair, blue eyes, and five o'clock shadow. He wore a tan overcoat over a charcoal grey suit, white shirt, and blue tie. His expression was that of concern.

"This place," he said in a near gravely monotone, "It's warded. I can't leave."

There are two other people looking around them, they are both wearing od green BDU's with flack jackets. One is a man with glasses, and the other is woman with black pig tales.

"I think I should be allowed off base.... Daniel, this isn't the SGC," she said.

"I see that Vala," he said annoyed.

"Warded, what's that mean? What is this place?" Bill asks, tipping back his cap to eye Castiel.

The sheriff is in uniform, and he takes a moment to check over his equipment. His sidearm is in its holster and the other contents of his gun belt seem to be intact.

He's hoping he won't need any of it.

Charlie sidles away a bit, keeping distance between himself and the cop and giving the woman a quick once over.

"SGC? Military?" he figures it's a good guess given their dress.

"Yes," said Castiel looking around at his new companions, "This place is warded against angels. From what I can tell, we are underground."

He picked up a scroll from a niche and examined it.

"Yes," said Daniel, "Where are we? Who are you?""

Vala stood and pointed at Cas and Bill, her P90 hanging by its tether from her vest, "Daniel who are those two guys over there?"

"Warded against angels?" he repeats, skeptical. "How would you know?"

[out_on_the_mat]

"And what's it got to do with anything anyways?" Charlie scoffs, looking at the two talking about angels.

"My name's Charlie. Kenton. And apparently we're in one of the worst hangover dreams I've ever had." He rubbed his temple, wincing and regretting that last round of shots from last night.

"Because, I am an angel of the Lord," Castiel said,"It means that my powers are limited. I am Castiel."

He looked at Kenton, "This is not a dream."

[diehard_daniel]

"Daniel what are Angels?" asked Vala confused.

"Ah, crap," said Daniel, "Vala, not right now. I'm Daniel, and this is Vala."

"Right." Bill's expression doesn't shift, but he's worried now that he's been saddled with a crazy person.

Stepping away, he looks over the other people present.

"I'm sheriff Bill Pardy. Anyone got any kind of idea on how we all got here?"

[out_on_the_mat]

"So then what is it, crazy guy?" Charlie asks, calling Castiel on his insane statement.

"I am not insane," said Castiel deadpan, "I am an angel. Only a highly powerful being could bring us here. God maybe, or even an archangel. There are also other gods that could do this as well."

He picked up the paper from the platform in the middle of the room.

"It seems we are supposed to work together to get out of here," explained Castiel after reading the note.

Daniel had started to look around the room.

"This is defiantly an old structure," he said, "Look there is something incised on the stone in the middle of the room."

Vala moved to see what he was talking about, she saw this a labyrinth.

"Daniel, do you suppose this might be a map of some kind?" she asked.

"Might be," he said, " It looks like some of the drawings of Renascence Europe.

"Why would God put us here?" Bill scoffed, letting his disbelief show. "No, somethin's goin' on here an' we need to figure it out."

[out_on_the_mat]

"Hey, forget that, I'm not going anywhere," Charlie said. waving off the idea. "We stay here and look for a way out, or wait for whoever's behind this. Not go wandering around into some deathtrap maze."

[mm_annalalaith]

Cstiel shrugged, "I didn't say He did it. I do not see a way out of here."

He moved to see the engraving, "I agree with you Daniel, this does remind me of the old labyrinths from the middle ages and Renaissance.

Daniel was impressed by how fast this guy could remember names, perhaps he was a savant or really an angel.

"You know, the legends of labyrinths always had monster," said Daniel, "We might want to stick together here."

Vala nodded her agreement. They had been through several things like this before and knew it was best to stay together.

[out_on_the_mat]

"Yeah? Well this reminds me of those crazy horror flicks where people get chainsawed to death after having to cut off their own leg," Charlie grumbled.

[wheelsy_sheriff]

Bill could feel that tell tale pressure building in his temple that signaled the onset of a headache and he tried to take control of the situation.

"Look, they're aren't any monsters, an' no one is gettin' chainsawed t'death. We all just gotta stay calm an' figure this out, alright?" He hoped, at least. "Now let's just take a look around an' see what all's here. Maybe there's a way out we ain't seein'."

"There is that door," said Cas pointing at the large, heavy, wooden door set into the wall, "I believe that is the only way out of this room."

He looked, unblinking, at the others. He hoped he didn't have to take charge of humans. He didn't know what to make of them.

"Real life rarely follows movie rules," said Daniel,"And we aren't chained to a radiator."

Vala looked from Daniel to Charlie, "You are talking about that movie with the creepy doll, and those torture devices?"

"We could always go through the door and find out what is on the other side," said Daniel to Castiel, who was beginning to creep him out.

"Yeah, that one," Charlie affirmed to Vala, then turned to Daniel.

"And I don't know about you, pal, but my real life doesn't generally include finding myself in some crazy maze with total strangers." In his book that meant anything was possible here.
